Rick Beckwith

Rick Beckwith has served on the staff of Young Life for forty years in a variety of roles including, Sr. Regional Director for Metropolitan Washington, and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. He has consulted with both for profit and nonprofit leaders across Europe as well as in Canada and the U.S. Rick’s unique strengths are in growing things – people, companies, projects, and visions. Rick is also an IAP seasoned life coach and spiritual director. He earned his B.A. from Denison University and M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kris, reside in the Washington, DC suburbs. They have three married daughters and six grandchildren.

When not working Rick can be found cheering on the Washington Capitals hockey team. “Let’s go Caps!!!”

Doug Garson

Doug’s career spans over 45 years, primarily in various business management and marketing roles. After launching his career at Monsanto Company in engineering, marketing, product management and sales, he became Director of Strategic Planning for Cadmus Communications. Subsequently, he built and sold several businesses in the construction industry before co-founding a consulting firm that focused on growing client revenues. This path lead to the “rebirth” of Response Marketing Group (RMG), formerly a leader in the direct marketing field.

Doug was President and co-founder of RMG, and chiefly responsible for their success in bringing direct marketing expertise to the communications, strategic planning, and fundraising efforts of many higher educational institutions. He joined Royall & Company in August 2010 as Managing Director, Advancement Services, following the acquisition of RMG’s Higher Ed Division. In July of 2013, Doug left Royall to serve as a consultant in the field of higher education.

In addition to his corporate experience, Doug has spent over 30 years advising nonprofit concerns on strategic and fundraising issues. Specifically, in the area of higher education, Doug has served as a co-chair of the Annual Giving Advisory Board, as a member of the Alumni Relations Task Force, as a member of the Council of Foundations, and as President of the Trustees of the Engineering School at the University of Virginia. Doug has also served on the Parents Councils at Washington & Lee University, Cornell University and Lafayette College. Furthermore, he serves on the board of Richmond Metro Habitat for Humanity and is a Trustee at Westview Camp and Retreat Ministries.

“I love working with organizations to successfully achieve their goals and aspirations. Having been in the trenches as a start-up entrepreneur as well as a corporate executive, I know the challenging demands and pressures that leaders face in both the for-profit and non-profit arenas. I help leaders develop and utilize their talents to be change agents who strive to move their organizations to greatness.”

Doug received his Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from UVa and his Masters in Business Administration from Western New England University. He currently resides in Richmond, Virginia along with his wife, Palmer. They have 4 married children and 6 grandchildren.

Scot Henderson

Scot has dedicated the past 40 years to assisting organizational leaders in achieving their missions. With dual careers in both full-time ministry and the corporate sector, Scot finds commonality in applying biblical principles and strategic methodologies to foster growth and excellence in a variety of contexts.

Educationally prepared with a B.S. in Business Management from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University (earned with Magna Cum Laude honors), Scot blends rigorous business acumen with a compassionate psychological understanding. During his time at Trinity, he also offered marriage and family counseling services, deepening his insight into human dynamics and organizational culture.

In his professional ventures, Scot has significantly impacted non-profit organizations by focusing on recruitment, leadership training, strategic planning, continuity planning, and fundraising. His for-profit achievements include revitalizing underperforming companies and organizations within the legal services, retail, and higher education sectors. As a testament to his capabilities, Scot’s current enterprise, Henderson Legal Services, stands as a leading litigation support service provider in North America, offering global services to top-tier law firms and corporations.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Scot resides in Sterling, Virginia with his wife, Joanie. Together, they enjoy a vibrant family life with their three grown children and five grandchildren. In his leisure time, Scot humorously embraces his knack for “losing golf balls in the woods,” hinting at his love for the sport.
